Role Summary
The Head of Strategy & Partnerships is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for driving the strategic direction, partnerships, and business growth initiatives of the agency.
The role combines strategic advisory to the GM and Board, partnership development (supply and demand side), financial innovation, and operational scale enablement to position the agency as a market leader in Nigeria’s rapidly evolving Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising ecosystem
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Support to GM & Board of Directors:
Lead corporate strategy formulation, annual planning, and performance reviews, ensuring alignment with financial goals and market realities.
Serve as the chief strategic advisor to the GM and Board, developing and translating the company’s vision into measurable business objectives.
Provide strategic insights, market intelligence, and competitive analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
Prepare Board papers, strategic reports, and presentations that support governance, investor relations, and strategic partnerships.
Champion innovation and new business models (e.g., digital OOH, programmatic buying, and audience analytics).
Partnership Development (Supply & B2B Client):
Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with media owners, landlords, digital screen operators, and government agencies for OOH asset acquisition and expansion.
Build and maintain high-value B2B client relationships, including brands, media agencies, and technology providers, to drive revenue growth.
Develop collaborative partnerships with technology firms, fin-tech, and data companies to enhance audience measurement, automation, and campaign performance tracking.
Lead the design and implementation of strategic alliance frameworks to increase inventory coverage, client retention, and new revenue channels.
Represent the company in industry associations, conferences, and public-private partnerships to strengthen corporate reputation and thought leadership.
Financial Leadership & Embedded Finance:
Work with the GM, HOD Finance, and finance team to develop business cases, investment models, and profitability analyses for new projects and partnerships.
Drive embedded finance initiatives (e.g., vendor financing, leasing, or credit models) to unlock value in asset-heavy OOH operations.
Develop and track financial performance KPIs that measure strategic ROI, client lifetime value, and cost-efficiency.
Support fundraising efforts (equity, debt, or strategic investors) and lead due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, or joint ventures.
Ensure that all partnership and strategic initiatives meet the company’s financial sustainability and governance standards.
Operational Excellence & Scale Enablement:
Oversee the institutionalization of scalable systems, processes, and tools to improve efficiency and service delivery across the business.
Partner with Operations and Technology teams to implement data-driven performance dashboards, enabling real-time decision support.
Support digital transformation initiatives — including automation of planning, campaign management, and reporting workflows.
Lead the development of SOPs and strategic frameworks to ensure operational consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Drive continuous improvement by establishing a culture of accountability, innovation, and performance excellence.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Achievement of annual strategic growth targets and profitability goals.
Number and quality of strategic partnerships executed (supply and demand).
Improvement in OOH asset coverage, utilization, and digital conversion rates.
Implementation of financial innovation models (e.g., embedded finance or investment partnerships).
Increased operational efficiency metrics — turnaround time, cost savings, and delivery consistency.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
Minimum of 10–12 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior strategic, business development, or partnership role within the advertising, media, telecoms, or financial services sector.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic partnerships and growth plans.
Proven exposure to OOH or media asset management, digital transformation, and cross-sector collaboration.
Strong network within Nigeria’s advertising, media, and investment communities is a major advantage.
