Job Title: Head, Marketing & Growth

Location: Lagos

Organizational Context

It is important that the role holder at all times, understands and works towards achieving the OEL’s statement of its vision and mission as well as its commitment to leadership into the future.
  • As a senior executive in the company, the role holder will at all times, behave in a highly professional and supportive manner, cooperating with all stakeholders and model behaviours that comply with and project OEL’s values probity, efficiency, corporate leadership and high standard of service delivery and business morality.

Position Objectives
The objectives of this role are to:

  • Drive New Growth Opportunities– Identify, prioritize, develop, and launch new products, services and business models
  • Build and Grow Innovation Capabilities– Create new organizational capabilities, including technical and people-driven, that ensure a steady stream of innovations
  • Champion Innovation– Evangelize innovation internally and externally to influence the brand in the market and create pull for product initiatives.
  • Profitable Growth of Group Businesses: - Support the efficient Management of OEL’s businesses to ensure high and globally competitive product and service quality.

Position Overview
The role holder will;

  • be at the forefront of driving strategic initiatives to propel our agency forward in a rapidly evolving industry.
  • identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities to enhance our creative offerings and expand our client base.
  • Work with the GM/COO to foster a culture of innovation and develop cutting-edge solutions that differentiate our agency in the market.
  • Support the GM in formalizing the company’s strategic-planning processes, development of strategy and ensure its translation across functions and business units.
  • coordinate the harmonization of business growth initiatives across the group and drives Innovation and growth initiatives across the group.
  • Focus on accelerating organization’s performance through cohesive strategy planning and execution, knowledge management and the implementation of an organizational dashboard for impact and organizational effectiveness

Key Responsibilities
Innovation & Growth:

  • Creation of an innovation strategy that is understood and endorsed by key stakeholders including executive leadership, employees, customers, and partners
  • Building of a well-balanced innovation portfolio and roadmap that drives investments & top line growth
  • Leading and ensuring the company is successful in taking its innovations to market in a timely and scalable way
  • Evangelize innovation so the company is viewed as innovative, visionary and a market leader by customers, industry groups and media
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive innovation strategy aligned with the agency's business objectives and market trends.
  • Drive the development of innovative OOH solutions, leveraging emerging technologies such as AI, AR/VR, and data analytics
  • Lead research and analysis of industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to pilot, test, and iterate on new products, services, or business models.

Strategic Planning & Corporate Performance Management:

  • Work with management to develop and drive the implementation of their corporate strategy and business plan
  • Champion in conjunction with the management team, all activities related to strategic planning, financial analysis, competitive analysis, operations analysis, capital investment planning, and special initiatives.
  • Ensure the organization's strategy is effectively communicated and cascaded to all entities and stakeholders for effective implementation.
  • Ensure all innovative initiatives are based on the strategic direction and goals with consideration of the competitive market environment and the business operations.
  • Oversee the development of robust forecasting and planning tools and models to be utilized for business operations and projections and advise management accordingly
  • Provide expert support to management on business planning, service delivery planning, and risk analysis

Organic Business Development & Growth Opportunity:

  • Work with the relevant head of function to identify and pursue business opportunities within the existing accounts in line with the company’s core competencies and growth objectives.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with potential clients, partners, and industry influencers to drive business expansion.
  • Collaborate with other functional heads to create compelling pitches and proposals.

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining the marketing strategy and direction, overseeing the planning, development and execution of business product initiatives.
  • Focus on growing audiences and the uptake for products and services.
  • Develop the corporate brand identity in consultation with management, and partners.
  • Conduct strategic marketing analysis that will help guide marketing messages.

Talent Management:

  • Manage performance reports, ensure relevant training and development interventions, appropriate rewards and motivation programmes are implemented to sustain performance.
  • Drive performance management of the team in collaboration with the executive management of the companies.
  • Promote and embed strong and inspirational leadership to the entire team by demonstrating the company’s values and championing the leadership behaviour framework.

Performance Expectations:

  • Ensure market leadership and innovation that will make the company distinctive and most sought-after at all times
  • Improved Reputation and equity of the business among all stakeholders
  • Build an engaged and professional marketing strategy that deliver exceptional product quality at all times and lead to a minimum of 25% revenue quarterly.
  • Ensure market relevance and improved reputation that will lead to having clear brand identity that will guarantee a minimum of 2 sales leads per quarter.
  • Ensure delivery of a minimum of two (2) innovative products per quarter that will add a minimum of 20% to overall revenue of the company
  • Increased operational efficiency metrics — turnaround time, cost savings, and delivery consistency.
  • Delivery of improved relationship with all heads of functions.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to craft and execute medium-to-long-term business strategies with measurable impact.
  • Partnership Management: Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills across corporate, government, and private sectors.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong grasp of corporate finance, investment modeling, and commercial deal structures.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to synthesize complex data, market insights, and operational trends into actionable strategies.
  • Operational Discipline: Skilled in process optimization, performance management, and change management.
  • Innovation Mindset: Curious, tech-savvy, and open to adopting new models of advertising and financing.
  • Executive Presence: Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Integrity & Accountability: Upholds the highest standards of ethics, transparency, and results orientation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10–12 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior strategic, business development, or partnership role within the advertising, media, telecoms, or financial services sector.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic partnerships and growth plans.
  • Proven exposure to OOH or media asset management, digital transformation, and cross-sector collaboration.
  • Strong network within Nigeria’s advertising, media, and investment communities is a major advantage
