Job Title: Accountant

Location: Owode-Onirin, Ikorodu - Lagos

‎Job Summary

• The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records and transactions of the company.
• This role involves preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate accounts, overseeing budget management, and ensuring compliance with local financial ‎regulations.
• The Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the company’s financial health and sustainability initiatives.

‎‎Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and invoices.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.

‎Financial Reporting:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

‎Compliance and Auditing:

• ‎Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and tax obligations.
• Prepare for and support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and ‎explanations.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

‎Cost Analysis and Management:

• Conduct cost analysis to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Collaborate with other departments to assess the financial impacts of projects and initiatives.

‎Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with management to provide financial insights and support strategic planning.
• Communicate financial information clearly to non-financial team members.
• Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders regarding financial transactions.

‎Tax Preparation and Compliance:

• Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with Nigerian tax laws and regulations.
• Stay informed about changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the company.

‎Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and implement relevant changes.

‎‎Qualifications

• ‎Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ‎ICAN Certification as a Chartered Accountant is mandatory.
• Experience: Previous experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the manufacturing sector.

‎Skills:

• High proficiency in using ERP.
• Ability to generate wealth.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations and tax laws (Excellent taxation knowledge).
