Job Title:Procurement / Business Manager

Description

• The role of a business manager in a mining company is multifaceted, encompassing strategic planning, financial oversight, and operational management to ensure efficiency, profitability, safety, and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning and Growth: Identifying and prioritizing new business opportunities, analyzing market trends, and developing plans to shape the company's strategic direction and drive growth. This often involves activities like mergers and acquisitions analysis, market research, and developing business cases for new initiatives.
• Operational Oversight: Managing the day-to-day operations to ensure they are carried out efficiently, cost-effectively, and meet production targets. This includes optimizing resource allocation, managing inventory and logistics, and improving operational systems and processes.
• Financial Management: Overseeing budgets, financial forecasts, cost control, and ensuring the business operates within financial guidelines. They track costs, analyze financial metrics, and prepare reports for senior management to ensure alignment of capital and resource allocation with the budget.
• Team Leadership and Management: Leading, mentoring, and motivating teams across various departments to foster a positive and productive work environment. This includes hiring, training, performance management, and resolving conflicts.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring all operations adhere to relevant regulations, internal policies, and safety standards. In mining, this is critical due to the inherent safety and environmental regulations (e.g., MSHA in the US).
• Stakeholder Communication: Serving as a primary point of contact and effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, employees, external partners, vendors, and government agencies.
• Ultimately, a business manager acts as a vital link between senior executives and on-site operations, applying strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills to guide the company toward its goals and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor’s / Master`s Degree with 3 - 10 years experience.

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 monthly.
