Sure-protein Hub is a protein supermarket and cold room facility situated in the Ikotun/Igando area of Lagos. The company is dedicated to providing high-quality, well-preserved frozen protein products, including beef, chicken, turkey, and sausages, through efficient cold room operations and exceptional customer service. The Cold Room Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and efficient functioning of the cold room facility.
The role oversees product procurement, customer acquisition, inventory management, operations coordination, and revenue growth.
The Manager ensures seamless business operations, drives sales through active marketing, and maintains high standards of cold-chain integrity, hygiene, and customer service.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership and Management:
Oversee all cold room activities and ensure smooth daily operations.
Maintain optimal product quality through consistent temperature monitoring and cold-chain compliance.
Coordinate receiving, storage, stock rotation, and dispatch activities.
Ensure all equipment is functioning and arrange repairs/maintenance promptly.
Enforce operational policies, SOPs, and safety standards.
Marketing and Business Development:
Mobilise customers into the cold room through targeted field marketing and customer engagement strategies.
Conduct market research to identify potential customer locations (restaurants, caterers, supermarkets, food vendors, hotels, etc.).
Visit customer locations regularly to promote products and secure bulk orders.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure repeat patronage.
Develop marketing campaigns and promotional activities to increase visibility and sales.
Procurement and Supplier Management:
Source and select reliable suppliers for all frozen protein products.
Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Plan product purchases based on demand forecasts and sales trends.
Ensure timely replenishment of stock to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Inventory and Financial Oversight:
Oversee stock counts, variance reconciliation, and inventory accuracy.
Ensure efficient stock rotation to minimise waste.
Monitor daily sales, expenses, and operational costs.
Work with management to set sales targets and ensure consistent achievement.
Team Leadership and Administration:
Supervise cold room supervisors, assistants, handlers, and front-desk staff.
Assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with company standards.
Conduct training on product handling, customer service, and hygiene practices.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational and sales reports.
Requirements
HND / B.Sc. in Public or Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field.
3 – 5 years’ experience in cold room operations, retail management, FMCG marketing, or supply-chain leadership.
Strong marketing and customer acquisition skills.
Solid understanding of cold-chain logistics and inventory management.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication abilities.
Proficiency in Excel and inventory/point-of-sale software.
High level of integrity, discipline, and commitment to business growth.
