Sure-protein Hub is a protein supermarket and cold room facility situated in the Ikotun/Igando area of Lagos. The company is dedicated to providing high-quality, well-preserved frozen protein products, including beef, chicken, turkey, and sausages, through efficient cold room operations and exceptional customer service. The cashier is responsible for managing all customer transactions efficiently and accurately while providing excellent service at the point of sale.
The role includes receiving payments, issuing receipts, reconciling daily sales, maintaining proper records, and ensuring smooth front-desk operations. The Cashier supports the cold room team by ensuring transparency, accuracy, and accountability in all financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Management:
Process customer purchases through cash, POS, transfers, and approved payment channels.
Issue receipts and ensure accurate documentation of all sales.
Confirm and validate customer payments before releasing goods.
Maintain proper handling of cash and ensure adherence to financial control procedures.
Customer Service:
Attend to customers promptly and courteously.
Respond to product or pricing inquiries and direct customers to the appropriate staff when needed.
Assist customers with resolving payment issues professionally.
Maintain a friendly and organized checkout environment.
Daily Reconciliation and Reporting:
Balance the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift.
Prepare daily sales summaries and submit reports to the Cold Room Manager.
Reconcile POS receipts, transfer confirmations, and cash collections.
Report discrepancies, suspicious transactions, or errors immediately.
Record Keeping and Documentation:
Maintain accurate logs of sales, refunds, and voided transactions.
Ensure proper documentation of prices, product codes, and promotional changes.
File transaction slips and POS printouts systematically.
Collaboration and Operational Support;
Work closely with the Cold Room Supervisor and Manager to ensure smooth customer flow.
Communicate low-stock alerts observed during sales to relevant teams.
Support the front desk in crowd control during busy hours.
Assist with customer order coordination when required.
Compliance and Accountability:
Follow company financial policies, security measures, and operational procedures.
Handle cash and sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
Adhere to safety and hygiene guidelines in the work environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
SSCE, OND / NCE (with strong numeracy skills and experience) required
1–2 years’ experience as a cashier, preferably in retail, supermarket, or cold room operations.
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to use POS machines, handle transfers, and operate basic cashier software.
High level of integrity, discipline, and accountability.
Ability to work under pressure and manage high customer traffic.
