Beyond Beans is based out of the Netherlands and has operations in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Ecuador, Cameroon and Togo. We support more than 100,000 rural farmer households with training on agroforestry practices and regenerative agriculture, provision of seedlings, and cash premiums. Our multidisciplinary team of specialists, experts, and field staff have experience in topics such as climate-smart agroforestry, community development and promoting gender equity.

Job Title: Field Officer, AgriTech
Location: Ikom, Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Full-time
Work status: 40 hours per week. Based in Ikom, Cross River State, South-South, Nigeria (can be posted to other project communities).
Job Summary
We are looking for an Agritech Officer at our office in Ikom, Cross River State, who will work with other team members to support the effective implementation and monitoring of our digital agricultural systems.
The officer will be responsible for data collection and will actively support field-level activities aimed at improving farm productivity and sustainability.
Roles and Responsibilities
Implementation of RA farm requirements/standard and yearly Work-Plan of project activities, supervision of project farmers and Farmer Field Schools in assigned location.
Data collection on the field for documentation of farmers’ profiles which includes the collection of demographic data, signing of farmer contracts, farm inspections, risk assessment, yield estimation as well as the development of other tools and templates needed for successful external audit.
Support the maintenance of the Internal Management System and identification of lead farmers for step-down training to farmers on topics relevant to RA and sustainable agriculture.
Ensure that producers understand the requirements of the RA standard and clients’ requirements and ensure that farmers are improving their techniques.
Recognize and report interesting stories and provide a progress report on-field activity.
Coordinate the use of agricultural inputs and take part in the risk management process.
Requirements
A well-motivated and proactive person
A Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or a related course
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in crop production; experience in the cocoa sector is preferred.
Knowledge of RA Certification is an added advantage.
Experience with using digital data collection.
Ability to work productively, with minimum supervision, and under pressure
Computer literate and able to use basic digital data collection tools and applications.
Ability & interest to mobilize and work with farmers in cocoa-growing communities.
Can work under pressure and is keen to continuously learn and improve.
