Beyond Beans is based out of the Netherlands and has operations in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Ecuador, Cameroon and Togo. We support more than 100,000 rural farmer households with training on agroforestry practices and regenerative agriculture, provision of seedlings, and cash premiums. Our multidisciplinary team of specialists, experts, and field staff have experience in topics such as climate-smart agroforestry, community development and promoting gender equity.

Job Title: Community Development Officer
Location: Ondo city, Ondo

Work status: 40 hours per week.
The job
We are looking for a Community Development Officer at our station in Ondo, Ondo state, who will work within the CommDev team of Beyond Beans to ensure smooth implementation of CLMRS system.
The officer is responsible for data collection using the digital CLMT tool and be involved in remediation activities to combat child labour.
Data collection includes daily interactions with farmers and their families and farm visits.
Also, the officer will work to establish and monitor VSLAs and carry out training and awareness sessions on child protection in our supply chain communities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Continuous digital data collection as part of CLMT and VSLA activities.
Verify identified cases of child labour in our supply chain.
Implement remediation activities with our cocoa-growing households
Carry out awareness sessions at individual households and community levels.
Report all field activities to the CommDev Project Manager, including the collected data.
Support in the training of child labour liaison officers in the Assess and Address Committee.
Work together with other field officers, including assistance, coaching, any other (CERT+) projects, or other relevant activities.
Monitor the activities of Village, Savings, and Loan Associations.
Carry out follow-up visits and adequate monitoring of households.
Carry out any other duties as directed by the CommDev Project Manager.
Requirements
A good Diploma or University Degree in Agricultural Science, Social Sciences, Social Works, Humanities, Education, or other related field
At least 2 years of experience in handling social issues or work experience in community development specifically data collection and child labour monitoring
A well-motivated and proactive person
Strong communication, Training and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate in the local dialect (Yoruba/Pidgin)
Computer literate and able to use basic digital data collection tools and applications
Independent, capacity to work with little supervision as well as in a team
Ability & interest to mobilize and work with farmers in cocoa-growing communities
Can work under pressure and is keen to continuously learn and improve.
Based in Ondo, Ondo State, South-West, Nigeria (can be posted to other project communities).
