Job Title: Deputy Manager, Business Development (Oil & Gas / EPCIC)

Summary
We are seeking a highly driven Deputy Manager, Business Development to lead growth initiatives across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of the Oil & Gas and EPCIC industry.
The ideal candidate is strategic, well-networked, and experienced in securing contracts with IOCs, NOCs, Marginal Field Operators, and EPC contractors.
This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, winning tenders, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring sustainable revenue growth aligned with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Drive business development strategies across upstream, midstream, and downstream markets.
Identify and secure new contracts with IOCs, NOCs, Marginal Fields, and EPC contractors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, regulators (NUPRC, NCDMB), and host communities.
Lead preparation of EOIs, pre-qualification documents, tenders, and RFPs.
Monitor industry trends, market intelligence, and competitor activities.
Negotiate commercial terms and manage contract agreements in compliance with local content laws.
Collaborate with technical, operations, HSE, finance, and project teams on client solutions.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
Maintain accurate sales pipeline, forecasts, and BD reports for management.
Prepare proposals, pricing strategies, and compelling tender submissions.
Supervise junior staff and coordinate BD activities across teams.
Prepare presentations, marketing materials, and strategic business cases.
Ensure smooth project handover to execution teams.
Identify risks in contract terms and recommend mitigation strategies.
Work closely with legal/contract teams on disputes, compliance, and documentation.
Qualifications
B.Sc./HND in Electrical/Electronics, Petroleum, Mechanical or related Engineering fields.
Excellent knowledge of NCDMB, NUPRC, DPR (legacy) regulations.
Strong commercial, financial, and contract negotiation skills.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation ability.
Proven sales and revenue-target achievement.
Deep networking strength within the Oil & Gas ecosystem (NAPIMS, NUPRC, NCDMB, etc.).
Strategic thinking, market analysis, and deal-closing capability.
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
High professionalism, integrity, and resilience.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office and BD tools.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
