Job Title: Assistant Manager / Officer

Job Purpose
To oversee and manage all electrical operations and maintenance activities relating to Wartsila or Bergen power-generating engines, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, reliable power supply, and continuous support to the manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
Power Generation & Electrical Operations:
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain Wartsila or Bergen generator engines for optimal performance.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on all electrical and power-generation systems.
Monitor generator performance and ensure an uninterrupted power supply to plant operations.
Perform root-cause diagnosis for generator and electrical faults, resolving them promptly.
Implement energy efficiency and electrical safety standards to reduce downtime and operational costs.
Maintenance Management:
Plan, supervise, and execute generator and electrical equipment maintenance schedules.
Coordinate major engine overhauls with OEM vendors (Wartsila/Bergen).
Ensure proper documentation of all electrical repairs, generator running hours, maintenance reports, and spares utilization.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce strict adherence to HSE and electrical safety practices.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure regulatory compliance of all electrical installations.
Maintain high safety standards during maintenance and operations.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
Lead and supervise electrical technicians and maintenance staff.
Provide on-the-job training, technical support, and task assignment.
Collaborate with Production, Utilities, and Engineering teams for power planning and downtime management.
Inventory & Resource Management:
Monitor and manage stock of electrical spares, consumables, and critical generator parts.
Recommend and track procurement of Wartsila/Bergen-specific spare parts.
Manage maintenance budgets efficiently.
Reporting:
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and performance reports.
Track power consumption, generator efficiency, and downtime analysis.
Qualifications & Experience
B.Tech or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering.
10–15 years relevant experience in power generation within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
Mandatory hands-on experience with Wartsila or Bergen power generators.
Strong experience in electrical systems maintenance, troubleshooting, PLCs, switchgear, and power distribution.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong electrical engineering and power system expertise
Advanced troubleshooting skills for generator engines
Leadership and team supervision abilities
Excellent reporting and communication skills
Knowledge of industrial safety and compliance standards
Good decision-making and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment
