Job Description

• Full-Stack Developer – 3–4 Month MVP Contract (With Option for Full-Time)
• We are a fast-growingmultinational company building a next-generation digital platform that will operate across multiple markets.
• We’re now assembling a small, high-caliber engineering team to deliver the first MVP within 3–4 months. Candidates who perform well during this phase will be offered full-time roles.

Responsibilities

• Build the core backend and web application for the MVP and PoC environments.
• Develop scalable APIs, authentication flows, and lightweight data pipelines.
• Implement media handling (e.g., uploading photos from the mobile web app).
• Integrate simple OCR services (cloud API or open-source) into the workflow.
• Work with temporary data stores (Airtable/Sheets) and prepare for migration to relational or NoSQL DBs (PostgreSQL / Firestore).
• Build stable transactional logic and multi-step validation flows.
• Collaborate closely with the frontend/mobile developer to deliver a smooth user experience.
• Maintain clean, testable code and clear documentation.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Node.js,Type Script, Python, or similar backend stack.
• Solid experience building REST APIs or GraphQL.
• Experience withdatabase design, including migrations from lightweight storage systems.
• Familiarity withfile/media upload workflowsand backend processing.
• Understanding ofmodular service architectureand scalable system design.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with OCR APIs(Google Vision, AWS Textract, Tesseract, etc.).
• Experience with payment platform integrations or webhook-based flows (e.g., Paystack, Flutterwave).
• Knowledge of batch/lot tracking workflows or operational data models.
• Previous startup or greenfield project experience.
