About the Role
Our client in the event and hospitality industry is looking to hire a Marketing Manager whose primary responsibility is to bring in new business through strong offline marketing strategies and ensure the sales team achieves excellent conversion rates.
This role is 70% offline marketing and business development, and 30% digital marketing support.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, persuasive, and excellent at relationship building—especially within the events, lifestyle, and hospitality ecosystem.
You will drive foot traffic, forge partnerships, attract walk-in guests, and supervise the sales unit to ensure every lead converts into revenue.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Team Leadership & Conversion Management (Core Responsibility)
Supervise Sales Executives and ensure they follow up on all leads immediately.
Monitor the entire sales pipeline from inquiry to booking.
Conduct weekly sales performance meetings and set conversion targets.
Enforce response-time standards to reduce dropped or cold leads.
Analyze sales gaps and implement strategies to boost conversion rate.
Work with Operations/Event teams to understand capacity, availability, and upsell opportunities.
Ensure every inquiry—walk-in, phone, WhatsApp, or referral—is attended to professionally and converted.
Offline Marketing & Business Development (Primary Focus)
Drive high-volume offline revenue by:
Building partnerships with event planners, photographers, decorators, makeup artists, bridal stores, MCs, DJs, influencers, and vendors.
Conducting community and field marketing within Lekki/Island to attract corporate, social, and private bookings.
Organizing open house tours, physical brand activations, and on-site presence at key event locations.
Networking at events, exhibitions, and social functions to pitch Fame Group services.
Developing relationships with walk-in guests and ensuring they receive premium pre-sales support.
Creating physical visibility initiatives such as flyers, collaboration setups, and referral schemes.
Activating corporate marketing opportunities to bring in bulk bookings for catering, rentals, and event spaces.
Online Marketing & Lead Support (Secondary Responsibility):
Support online campaigns that complement offline efforts.
Maintain consistent posting on Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp Business to attract inquiries.
Ensure social media showcases event highlights, reviews, décor, catering, and rental setups.
Manage basic paid ads and content needed to increase online leads.
Ensure all leads from online channels are recorded and pushed to the sales team for quick conversion.
Brand Visibility & Client Engagement:
Strengthen Fame Group’s presence within Lagos’ lifestyle and events ecosystem.
Execute seasonal promos and referral programs.
Collaborate with Events/Catering/Rental teams to create compelling package deals.
Ensure all marketing materials—price lists, catalogues, flyers—are up to date.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
Submit weekly and monthly sales and marketing performance reports.
Track:
Walk-in inquiries
Offline leads generated
Sales conversion rates
Partnerships closed
Return on marketing activities
Recommend strategies to increase bookings across event halls, catering, and rentals.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Increase in offline leads and walk-in inquiries
Sales team conversion rate (primary KPI)
Number of partnerships activated (planners, vendors, corporate clients)
Monthly revenue growth for halls, catering, and rentals
Speed and quality of lead follow-up
Reduction in lost or cold leads
Social media engagement that leads to inquiries
Timely submission of weekly/monthly reports
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
3–5 years’ experience in marketing, sales, or business development (hospitality/events industry strongly preferred).
Strong ability to generate leads physically and build offline relationships.
Experience supervising a sales team or driving sales performance.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of Lagos event ecosystem.
Creative, resourceful, and results-oriented.
Ability to work evenings/weekends during event periods.
Proficiency in social media management, CRM tools, and WhatsApp Business.
