Job Title: Treasury Analyst
Location: Lagos
About the Role
This role is responsible for Trade and FX related transactions, including Letters of Credit (LCs), Over-The-Counter (OTC) transactions, and related journal bookings.
The position also monitors fixed deposits, Interest on Loans, manages bank reconciliations, coordinates insurance matters, and oversees petty cash operations while ensuring compliance with Sun King’s Minimum Control Standards (MCS).
Additionally, the role handles the preparation of daily liquidity reports, monthly cash flow reports, and management of deposits and investments by negotiating favourable rates and ensuring accurate booking of interest accruals.
The role oversees payment processes, follow up to ensure seamless approval on e-platform payments, and resolves discrepancies in transactions with Banks.
What you would be expected to do
Trade Arrangements:
Ensure all Form M’s are accurately registered with the Nigeria Customs Service via the Single Window Trade Portal.
Coordinate with internal teams, banks, and regulators to secure timely approvals for trade documentation.
Letters of Credit (LC) Management:
Establish and manage Letters of Credit (LC) with corresponding banks for international suppliers.
Track LC transactions, update obligations on the LC tracker, and ensure proper linkage of FX purchases to each LC.
Follow up on supplier payments and ensure compliance with Sun King’s Minimum Control Standards (MCS).
Trade Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank obligations against LC requirements regularly to ensure transparency.
Perform reconciliations for FX purchases linked to LC obligations.
Work with the China operations team, suppliers, and banks to resolve documentation discrepancies and ensure accurate and timely settlements.
Trade Documentation:
Maintain proper filing and control of all exchange control and trade-related documentation.
Manage and dispatch shipping documents such as Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and related trade documents.
Ensure compliance with both Nigerian regulatory requirements and international trade finance standards.
Treasury Records & Reporting:
Maintain updated records for all imports, LC transactions, and FX purchases.
Assist monthly closing activities by preparing journal entries for trade-related transactions.
Provide timely treasury and trade finance reports to management and regulatory bodies.
Cross-functional Coordination:
Work with China operations, local procurement, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth processing of imports and supplier payments.
Provide relevant documentation and reports to auditors, banks, regulators, and management as required
You might be a strong candidate if you
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in Treasury, Trade Finance, or Banking Operations.
Key Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of banking regulations
