The Business Operations & Development Supervisor is responsible for driving operational effectiveness, supporting business growth, and enhancing internal processes across the organization.
The role serves as a key support function to the COO, ensuring seamless coordination between teams, timely delivery of operational activities, and proactive identification of business opportunities within the oil & gas EPC sector.
This role requires a structured, analytical, and commercially aware professional who can balance operations, procurement oversight, stakeholder engagement, and business development responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Relationship Management
Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities within the oil & gas EPC space.
Build and strengthen relationships with existing clients, partners, vendors, and industry stakeholders.
Support the preparation of capability presentations, business pitches, and introductory meetings.
Track industry developments, project announcements, and potential partnership opportunities.
Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of leads, prospects, and business engagements.
Bid & Tender Coordination
Manage the end-to-end bid and tender process—document collation, compliance checks, commercial inputs, and submission timelines.
Coordinate inputs from technical, finance, and operational teams to produce complete and competitive proposals.
Ensure all tender documents meet client specifications, quality standards, and internal approval protocols.
Maintain a tender tracker, highlighting deadlines, submission status, and outcomes for leadership review.
Procurement Oversight & Vendor Management
Oversee procurement processes to ensure cost-effectiveness, transparency, and adherence to quality standards.
Evaluate supplier performance and ensure reliability, timely delivery, and compliance with project requirements.
Support supplier onboarding, verification, and performance documentation.
Collaborate with operations and project teams to forecast procurement needs and track utilization.
Operations & Process Management
Drive operational efficiency by implementing, documenting, and monitoring standard operating procedures (SOPs) across business units.
Support day-to-day coordination of operational activities to ensure consistent workflow and timely execution.
Work with the COO to establish performance metrics and track progress across departments.
Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend improvements to streamline processes.
Strategy & Reporting
Contribute to business strategy development by conducting market research, competitive analysis, and performance reviews.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, competitor activities, and potential risks/opportunities.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the COO on operations, business development pipelines, procurement, and tender activities.
Provide insights to support decision-making, resource planning, and strategic discussions.
Cross-functional Communication & Coordination
Serve as a coordinating link between the COO and internal teams to ensure alignment and clear communication.
Follow up on departmental deliverables, deadlines, and action items.
Facilitate meetings, prepare documentation, and circulate minutes and action plans.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering(Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum) or a relevant field.
5+ years of experience in operations, business development, procurement, or tender coordination—preferably within the oil & gas/EPC sector.
Strong understanding of procurement processes, tendering procedures, and EPC industry standards.
Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and deliver under pressure.
Proficiency with CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and industry-related software (e.g., AutoCAD, Primavera P6) is an advantage.

Salary Range
NGN 750,000 - NGN1,000,000 / Month.
