Job Title: Spa Therapist

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Reports To: Spa Manager / Wellness Manager

Main Function

• The Spa Therapist delivers premium spa treatments and wellness experiences to hotel guests, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism, hospitality, safety, and comfort.
• The role combines expert technical skill with a luxury service mindset, contributing to overall guest satisfaction and spa performance in line with international hotel standards.

Role Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Delivery:

• Provide professional spa treatments including massages, facials, body scrubs, wraps, manicures/pedicures, aromatherapy, and other wellness services as trained and certified.
• Conduct client consultations to understand guest needs, medical contraindications, and wellness goals.
• Offer personalized service and advice to enhance guest comfort, satisfaction, and long-term wellbeing.
• Maintain a warm, respectful, and discreet approach to every guest interaction.

Treatment & Technical Excellence:

• Follow treatment protocols, SOPs, and brand guidelines to ensure consistency.
• Maintain correct product usage, pressure levels, and treatment timing.
• Monitor guest reactions, adjust techniques, and provide aftercare recommendations.
• Remain updated on new wellness techniques, spa trends, and product knowledge.

Spa Operations & Hygiene:

• Prepare treatment rooms before and after each service to luxury-level standards.
• Maintain proper sanitation, sterilization, and cleanliness of tools and equipment.
• Ensure spa linens, towels, and amenities are always fresh and available.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or inventory shortages to the Spa Manager.

Product Knowledge & Retail Support:

• Educate guests on appropriate skincare, aromatherapy, or wellness products.
• Recommend retail products based on treatment goals without pressure or aggressive selling.
• Support spa revenue targets by promoting signature packages or seasonal offerings.

Teamwork & Communication:

• Work harmoniously with other therapists, receptionists, and spa attendants.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain service flow, peak-time efficiency, and room readiness.
• Communicate guest concerns, special requests, or operational issues promptly.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow all hotel policies, health regulations, and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and confidentiality of guest information.
• Adhere to infection control procedures, chemical safety, and professional boundaries.

Experience / Qualification

• Diploma or Certificate in Massage Therapy, Aesthetics, or Spa Therapy from an accredited institution.
• 2 - 4 years experience in a spa, wellness centre, or luxury hotel environment.
• Proficiency in multiple massage techniques (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy).
• Experience with facial treatments, body therapies, or holistic therapies is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of hygiene standards and spa equipment handling.
