Registrar at Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin-ma

Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin-ma was established in 1991 by the Military Governor of the State, Colonel Yahaya John Madaki, as College of Education (Technical) Dutsin-ma, with the primary aim of addressing the shortage of Science and Technical Teachers at the NCE level at that time. In 1994, it was converted to a conventional College to make it an all-encompassing Teacher Training Institution, with the major Technical Department transferred to Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic. Then, the Civilian Government of Alhaji Sa’idu Barda in 1995 renamed the College, Isa Kaita College of Education to immortalize the late, Alhaji Isa Kaita, Wazirin Katsina.

The College's mission is to improve quality service delivery, in collaboration with all stakeholders, for the production of professional and competent teachers for Education in Nigeria. It also envisions Professional and competent teachers equipped with character, knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of effective Implementation of the Educational Curriculum.

In accordance with the provisions of the extant laws, the Governing Council of the College wishes to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Duties

• The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the College, responsible to the Provost, and is one of the Principal Officers of the College.
• Functions as the Secretary to the Governing Council, all Committees of the Council, the Academic Board and other Statutory Committees of the College.
• Responsible for maintaining all records of Staff and Students in the College.
• Issuing Certificates of service, results and Transcripts
• Conducts and receives all correspondence on behalf of the Council and Management.
• Performing any other related duty that may be assigned by the Council or Provost

Requirements

• The candidate for the post of Registrar must possess a good honours degree (at least, 2:2) in any of the Arts or Social Sciences Subjects from a recognized Institution of Higher Learning with at least 21 years cognate experience, 10 of which must be in a College of Education or possession of a Master's Degree with at least fourteen (14) years cognate experience, 10 of which must be in a College of Education or Doctorate Degree with at least 15 years cognate experience
• Be not below the rank of Deputy Registrar, who has spent at least five (5) years in the post.
• Be not older than fifty-five (55) years of age upon appointment.
• Membership of a recognized professional body in the relevant field.
• Be computer literate.
• Morally sound, of impeccable character, proven Integrity and free from financial embarrassment.
• Be physically and mentally sound.
• Exhibit the ability to be a team leader who can lead by example.

Terms and conditions of service

• The Registrar will normally be appointed for an initial period of five years as per the extant law.
• The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Registrar in all Colleges of Education in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the State Government/Governing Council of the College.
