Job Title: Maintenance Officer (Electrician / AC Technician)
Location: Lekki Phase I, Lagos
Reports to: Operations Manager
About the Role
Our client in the event and hospitality industry is looking to hire a Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring all our client’s facilities, equipment, electrical systems, and air-conditioning units are always in excellent working condition.
This role is critical to ensuring smooth event operations, maintaining safety standards, and delivering a seamless guest experience across all venues.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, reliable, technically skilled, and able to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly—especially during events.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections of all electrical systems, lighting, sockets, wiring, and power sources across all venues.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults promptly to avoid downtime.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical fixtures and appliances.
Support power supply management during events, including standby power solutions.
Air Conditioning (AC) Systems Management:
Maintain and service all AC units (split units, industrial units, and chillers where applicable).
Diagnose and repair AC issues, including gas leakage, compressor faults, thermostat problems, and cooling inefficiencies.
Ensure AC units are cleaned, serviced, and functioning optimally at all times.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance:
Conduct daily checks to ensure all event spaces, kitchens, rental items, and back-of-house equipment are functioning properly.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report malfunctioning items.
Collaborate with Decor, Catering, and Rentals teams during setup and teardown for electricity-related needs.
Ensure the safety of electrical connections during events to prevent accidents or power failures.
Emergency Response & Troubleshooting:
Respond quickly to maintenance emergencies (during events and outside event hours).
Troubleshoot breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement solutions promptly.
Coordinate with external vendors or technicians when specialized repairs are needed.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain logs of repairs, servicing schedules, and equipment conditions.
Submit weekly maintenance reports to the Operations Manager.
Track and report inventory of tools, spare parts, AC gas, and electrical materials.
Recommend replacements or upgrades when necessary.

100% functionality of electrical and AC systems during events
Reduced breakdowns through preventive maintenance
Response time to emergencies
Zero safety incidents related to electrical or AC malfunction
Accurate and timely maintenance reporting
High satisfaction ratings from Operations and Events teams
Qualifications & Skills
Technical certification in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience as an electrician, AC technician, or maintenance personnel (hospitality/event center experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, power distribution, and AC systems.
Ability to diagnose and repair faults quickly under pressure.
Good understanding of safety standards and compliance regulations.
Basic knowledge of generators and power backup systems (added advantage).
Physically fit and able to work at heights or in tight spaces if needed.
Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
