Job Title: Accountant (Head of Department – Manufacturing / Agro Industry)

Location: Akwuzu, Awka, Anambra

About the Role

• A reputable agro-manufacturing company in Akwuzu, Awka, is recruiting a highly competent Accountant who will also serve as the Head of the Accounts Department.
• The ideal candidate must be experienced, confident, and capable of managing the full accounting operations of the company while providing strategic financial guidance to management.
• This role requires a professional who can work independently, enforce proper financial processes, and ensure compliance across all financial activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Department
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions
• Ensure rigorous internal control systems and regulatory compliance
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and statutory reporting
• Monitor production, inventory, and cost-related financial activities
• Provide financial insights to management for decision-making
• Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts and cashflow monitoring

Requirements

• B.Sc. / HND in Accounting or related discipline
• Minimum of 2–3 years accounting experience (manufacturing/agro sector is an advantage)
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical abilities
• High sense of integrity, ownership, and professionalism
• Ability to resume immediately.
