Job Title: Account Officer

Job Summary

• The Account Officer will support the Accounts & Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, managing payables and receivables, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and assisting with inventory reconciliation and ERP processes.
• The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work effectively under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting:

• Record all financial transactions (sales, purchases, payments, receipts, journal entries) in the ERP system promptly.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations in the ERP system.
• Assist in preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
• Support inter-company reconciliation activities.

Payables & Receivables Management:

• Verify supplier invoices, payment vouchers, and related supporting documents.
• Obtain necessary approvals from authorized signatories.
• Prepare bank payment instructions.
• Assist in compiling weekly debtors’ reports.
• Prepare vendor payable summaries, maintain advance payment records, and follow up with team members for timely purchase booking and proper documentation.

Compliance & Audit Support:

• Prepare VAT, WHT, PAYE, and Pension schedules and ensure timely remittances.
• Properly file documents for audit purposes.
• Support external auditors during audit exercises by providing required documentation.

Inventory:

• Conduct monthly physical stock counts and reconcile raw materials, finished goods, and WIP with production and warehouse teams.

ERP & Process Improvement:

• Support periodic system reconciliations between Tally and eResource ERP during the migration phase.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in the Accounting field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Tally / eResource ERP).
• Familiarity with Nigerian tax regulations (VAT, WHT, CIT, etc.).
• Ability to work effectively under tight timelines.
• Strong coordination and communication skills to work with various departments.¥

Salary
N200,000 / month.
