Position Summary
We are seeking to hire a Junior Associate, Natural Resource Governance, who will play a pivotal role in driving positive change towards the sustainable management of natural resources.

Key Responsibilities
Policy Development (40%):
Research, analyze, and stay abreast of national and international policies related to mining and natural resource governance.
Develop and propose policies that enhance transparency, accountability, and sustainability in the extraction and utilization of natural resources.
Research and Analysis (20%):
Conduct in-depth research on issues pertaining to natural resource governance, including legal frameworks, environmental impact, and socio-economic implications.
Generate data-driven insights and contribute to the development of evidence-based strategies for effective resource management.
Advocacy (20%):
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for policy reforms and best practices in natural resource governance.
Develop and implement advocacy campaigns to raise awareness and support for sustainable resource management.
Training and Capacity Building (10%):
Design and deliver training programs for various stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and industry professionals, to enhance their understanding of natural resource governance principles.
Build and strengthen the capacity of local communities to actively participate in decision-making processes related to natural resource management.
Partnerships and Networking (10%):
Cultivate and maintain relationships with government agencies, NGOs, academia, and industry partners to foster collaboration and information exchange.
Represent the organization in relevant forums, conferences, and working groups to share expertise and contribute to the discourse on natural resource governance.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Environmental Sciences, particularly in fields such as Geology, Mining Engineering, Environmental Geo-Chemistry, Hydrology, etc with 2 years in similar role.
Proven experience in natural resource governance, policy analysis, and advocacy.
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, environmental Ability to navigate complex landscapes and make informed decisions to achieve organizational goals.
Proven success in cultivating and managing strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to create mutually beneficial collaborations.
Experience in resource allocation and budget management for innovation projects.
Ability to optimize financial resources for maximum impact.
Abilities, Skills & Attributes:
Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information related to natural resource governance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration, advocacy, and presentation of insights.
Ability to research, analyze, and propose policies that enhance transparency, accountability, and sustainability in natural resource extraction and utilization.
Experience in designing and delivering training programs, coupled with the ability to build and strengthen the capacity of diverse stakeholders.
Partnerships and Networking: Skill in cultivating and maintaining effective relationships with government agencies, NGOs, academia, and industry partners.
Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, leading advocacy campaigns, and promoting best practices in natural resource governance.
Familiarity with international best practices and standards in natural resource governance is a plus.
