Job Description
We are looking for an innovative civil/structural engineer to design, develop, and construct a range of projects from conception through to completion.
The position requires thorough knowledge of civil/structural design and engineering techniques with exceptional skills in analysis of structures to ensure their safety, stability, and functionality.
Job Responsibilities
Manage, design, develop, create, and maintain construction projects in a safe, timely, and sustainable manner
Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
Prepare accurate and detailed structural drawings, plans, and specifications that effectively communicate the design intent and facilitate construction.
Identify potential risks and hazards associated with structural elements and propose appropriate mitigation measures.
Perform field activities such as observing and recording existing field conditions as well as taking and verifying measurements within the project area.
Coordinate work and collaborate closely with professionals such as architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, etc. involved in the design and construction process.
Conduct detailed analysis and calculations to assess the structural integrity, stability, and load-bearing capacity
Assess the properties and suitability of construction materials, such as steel, concrete, timber, masonry, etc.
Design various reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and steel structures
Manage multiple projects and administer contracts by demonstrating capability and experience in managing and performing projects in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals, etc.
Proven working experience in civil engineering and project management.
Have experience in structural analysis, design, and detailing.
Proficiency in the use of drafting software like AutoCAD and MicroStation
Proficiency in STAADPro or equivalent finite element analysis software.
Strong understanding of structural analysis software, computer-aided design (CAD) tools, and other relevant structural engineering software.
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
Have a solutions-oriented attitude with strong attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to use project management tools like Primavera or Microsoft Project.
Project management and supervision skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
May assume the lead engineer’s role on assigned projects as well as serve as project engineer on smaller, less complex projects.
Participate actively in in-house trainings for capacity building and development
Job Requirements & Qualifications
You have at least two to five years of work experience
Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
A minimum of BSc Degree in Civil Engineering with not less than 3 years of working experience in civil or structural engineering.
MSc degree in civil engineering and a license as a professional engineer will be an added advantage.
