Rec Room Wellness is a social enterprise dedicated to addressing the global mental health crisis by creating safe and brave spaces for relaxation, education, and fun. At our events, you will learn important topics to boost your awareness of your mental health, put words to feelings, and build resilience against the adversities of life. You will also practice self-care activities, learn new hobbies, and create connections with like-minded community members. We also offer wellness workshops for students and staff, longitudinal wellness cohorts, and in-person wellness events and retreats.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Graphics Designer (Volunteer)
Location: Remote (with in-person events, as needed)
Volunteer Term: 3 months
Time Commitment: 5–10 hours per week
Reports To: Communications and Content Lead
Role Purpose
To create visually engaging content that reflects Rec Room Wellness’ mission and values. The Graphics Designer will support branding, campaigns, events, and social media through well-crafted visual designs that educate on mental wellness and foster community connection.
Key Responsibilities
Design digital assets such as flyers, social media graphics, event banners, and promotional materials using Canva as the primary design tool.
Collaborate with the content and programming teams to understand design needs.
Incorporate feedback from the team and meet creative deadlines.
Maintain consistency in brand style and visual identity.
Manage and organize design files and templates.
Attend required volunteer trainings and check-ins.
Uphold Rec Room Wellness’ values in all written content and communications.

Volunteer Commitment Agreement
By signing below, I understand and agree to the following:
I commit to volunteering 5–10 hours per week for 3 months.
I will uphold The Rec Room Wellness’ IMPACT values in all communications and work.
I understand that this is a volunteer role and is unpaid.
I will fulfil all role responsibilities, meet deadlines, and communicate proactively.
I will respond to all team communications within 24 hours, unless previously excused.
I understand that participation in this program is subject to review and may be discontinued if expectations are not met.
I acknowledge that if I fail to meet the attendance requirements, act uncooperatively with the team, or violate Rec Room Wellness values, my role may be terminated at the discretion of the program leadership.
I agree not to disclose or misuse any confidential information or trade secrets related to The Rec Room Wellness’ programs, operations, or intellectual property.
