Job Title: Facilitator – Understanding Federal Government of Nigeria Policy
The Facilitator will design and deliver a comprehensive training curriculum that equips participants with a practical understanding of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s policy process.
The role requires deep knowledge of governance structures, policy frameworks, intergovernmental relations, and public sector delivery mechanisms.
Responsibilities
Develop and update detailed training modules, slides, manuals, and case studies.
Deliver high-quality training sessions (physical or virtual) using adult-learning methodologies.
Teach participants the structure of the Nigerian federal government, policy formulation cycles, and implementation frameworks.
Guide learners through real-life policy case studies, scenarios, and simulations.
Evaluate participant learning through quizzes, group work, presentations, and applied projects.
Provide insights into current national policies, reforms, ministerial mandates, and sector priorities.
Submit training reports, attendance documentation, and recommendations for improvement.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Public Administration, Economics, or related fields.
A Master’s degree or postgraduate training in policy, governance, or development studies is an added advantage.
Professional certifications in legislative studies, policy analysis, or development management are desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in public policy analysis, governance consulting, public sector administration, legislative work, or development policy.
Prior experience in facilitating training or capacity-building programs is strongly preferred.
Experience working with federal ministries, MDAs, development partners, or policy research institutes is an advantage.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of Nigerian governance, public administration, and federal policy systems.
Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to break down complex policy concepts for diverse audiences.
Proficiency in policy analysis, interpretation of government documents, and sector review.
Experience with instructional design and adult-learning facilitation.
Competence with MS Office, Google Workspace, presentation software, and virtual training tools.
Other Requirements:
Flexible availability for scheduled training sessions.
Strong ethical standards, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively with senior public officers, legislative staff, and cross-sector stakeholders.
Must be capable of delivering both on-site and virtual sessions.
Remuneration
Competitive contract fee, commensurate with experience and training duration.
Additional compensation for development of training materials and specialized content (where applicable).
