Job Title: Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished and strategic financial leader to join its executive team as the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
This high-impact role carries full responsibility for the financial health, strategy, and governance of the Group and its five subsidiaries.
The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader capable of driving performance, optimizing capital, and ensuring robust financial stewardship across all business units.
This position requires approximately 25% travel across various states to oversee subsidiary operations directly.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies that align with the Group’s growth, diversification, and long-term objectives.
Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes for the Group and each subsidiary, providing insightful analysis to guide decision-making.
Ensure the preparation of accurate, timely, and IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements. Maintain transparency and uphold the highest standards of corporate governance.
Oversee group-wide liquidity, working capital, funding strategies, and investment portfolios to ensure financial stability and optimal cash flow.
Implement and monitor strong financial controls, internal audit frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance across all entities.
Structure and manage the Group’s capital, lead investor relations, and secure financing through banks, investors, and strategic partners.
Analyze the profitability and cost structures of all subsidiaries to identify opportunities for efficiency, margin improvement, and value creation.Ensure group-wide compliance with all tax legislation and statutory filing requirements, optimizing the Group’s tax position.
Directly oversee and harmonize the financial operations, reporting, and control environments of all subsidiary accounts.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-caliber finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous development.
Act as a key strategic partner to the Group Managing Director, subsidiary CEOs, and the Board, providing financial insight to support operational and growth initiatives.
Skill & Knowledge Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or relevant Master’s degree is highly preferred.
Must be a holder of a recognized professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent.
Must have SEC Registration. This is a mandatory requirement for this role.
Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in an executive leadership role (Group CFO, Deputy CFO, or Head of Finance) within a multi-subsidiary corporation or conglomerate.
In-depth knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, corporate governance, and financial regulations. Proven expertise in consolidated financial reporting and multi-entity cash flow management.
Exceptional strategic, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, and board-level presentation skills. A proven track record of leading and developing large teams.Experience managing finances across diverse industries is a significant advantage.
Must be willing and able to travel extensively (approximately 25% of the time) to subsidiary locations across Nigeria.

Salary
N400,000 - N500,000 Monthly.
