Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive, field-oriented, and technically skilled Agronomist with strong experience in agrochemical sales.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing agronomic advice to farmers, promoting and selling agrochemical products, conducting field demonstrations, and building strong customer relationships.
You will work closely with distributors, retailers, and farmers to drive sales growth while delivering excellent technical support.
Key Responsibilities
Field Extension & Farmer Support:
Provide agronomic recommendations to farmers on crop protection, nutrition, and best farming practices.
Conduct product demonstrations, field days, and training sessions on the safe and effective use of agrochemicals.
Monitor farm trials and generate reports on crop performance and product effectiveness.
Sales & Business Development:
Promote and sell agrochemical products to farmers, retailers, and distributors within Abuja and surrounding regions.
Identify new business opportunities and achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Maintain strong customer relationships through frequent field visits, follow-ups, and after-sales support.
Market Intelligence & Reporting:
Gather market feedback on competitor activities, product performance, pricing, and customer needs.
Prepare and submit timely sales reports, field activity updates, and stock movement details.
Work closely with the sales and marketing team to execute territory growth strategies.
Compliance & Product Stewardship:
Ensure safe handling, storage, and usage of agrochemicals during demonstrations and customer interactions.
Educate farmers on environmental safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
2–3 years of experience in the field of agronomy, agrochemical sales, or agricultural extension.
Strong understanding of crop protection products, fertilizers, seeds, and modern agronomic practices.
Proven sales experience with the ability to meet and exceed targets.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and thrive in field-based roles.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical knowledge into practical farmer solutions.
Willingness to travel to farming communities.
