Job Title: Senior Exploration Geologist

Location: Sabon Wuse, Niger

Job Purpose

• We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Exploration Geologist to plan and execute exploration projects in Nigeria.
• Plan and execute exploration projects, manage near-mine, brownfields, and greenfields exploration projects, and lead exploration teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, health, and wellbeing of employees and equipment
• Plan and lead exploration projects, ensuring standard operating procedures and technical standards are implemented
• Plan and direct exploration activities, including soil sampling, geological mapping, and drilling
• Analyze geological data to develop geological models and create maps to guide exploration
• Supervise data generation and reporting according to international standards (JORC)
• Mentor and develop exploration teams, and drive operational excellence

Requirements

• Professional Geologist designation
• BSc (Hons) in geology, MSc in exploration geology or related field preferred
• 8+ years of field experience, with 2+ years in senior exploration role
• In-depth knowledge of mineral exploration techniques and applications
• Excellent communication skills and experience in technical report writing.
