Solar Project Manager at ACO Nigeria

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Solar Project Manager

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Description

• The Project Manager will be Leading the execution of large C&I solar BESS projects from construction to commissioning and project handover ensuring that all related activities are performed in accordance with company regulations and standards, contractual agreements, quality standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, financial targets, and schedules commitments.

Responsibilties

• Manage the entire project installation scope of work.
• Responsible for commissioning of big projects across the C&I and mini-grids sectors.
• Manage and mentor a team of project engineers to carryout project installations and commissioning.
• Responsible for building and training project engineers capable of executing large solar & BESS installations.
• Responsible for organizing and deploying the installation team.
• Plan all installation activities and manage the execution carried out by installation team.
• Manage projects construction with focus on safety, quality, budget, and planning.
• Provide training for the installation team as required.
• Perform site audit visits to ensure proper projects construction, commissioning and testing as per contractual requirements and industry good practice.
• Act as the key contact for the customer and responsibility for all aspects of communication for an overall project
• Build and maintains strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders and existing partners.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and equipment suppliers for the construction of the projects
• Ensure strict adherence of projects design and material selection as per contractual requirements.
• Reporting of installation progress.

Qualifications

• BSc Degree in Electrical engineering or relevant fields
• Proven track record of Site / field experience minimum of 8 years.
• Extensive experience in engineering design and commissioning of Solar +BESS+ Diesel/Gas hybrid installations and MV/LV distribution networks design.
• Strong understanding of grid-interactive systems, off-grid systems, SCADA, and metering integration.
• Experience in leading installation teams.
• Extensive experience in Generators is preferred.
• HSE certification is preferred.
• Professional certifications in solar energy are a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
