We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pool Attendant / Life Guard

Location: Abuja (FCT) 

Main Function

• The Pool Attendant / Lifeguard ensures the safety and comfort of guests using the swimming pool by monitoring activities, enforcing pool rules, and responding quickly to emergencies.
• The role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness around the pool area, inspecting equipment, and providing excellent guest service.
• The ideal candidate should be attentive, safety-conscious, and physically fit, with the ability to remain alert for long periods and respond effectively in emergency situations.

Responsibilities
Guest Safety & Supervision:

• Monitor all pool activities to prevent accidents, injuries, or unsafe behavior.
• Enforce pool rules and maintain a safe swimming environment.
• Keep constant watch over swimmers and respond immediately to emergencies.
• Provide rescue assistance and first aid when necessary.

Pool Area Maintenance:

• Ensure the pool deck, loungers, umbrellas, and surroundings are clean and well-arranged.
• Monitor water clarity and report abnormalities immediately.
• Ensure towels, pool supplies, and safety equipment are properly stocked and organized.

Equipment Inspection:

• Inspect lifesaving equipment such as floatation devices, rescue tubes, and first aid kits.
• Report faulty or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
• Ensure pool safety signs are visible and in good condition.

Water Quality Monitoring:

• Assist in checking water levels, pH balance, and chlorine levels (if trained).
• Report any issues with filtration systems, pumps, or water quality.
• Ensure the pool remains clean and safe for guest use.

Guest Service:

• Greet guests politely and assist with seating or poolside needs.
• Provide information about pool rules, hours, and available amenities.
• Maintain a professional, friendly attitude at all times.

Emergency Response:

• Act quickly and calmly in emergencies such as drowning, injuries, or health-related issues.
• Administer CPR or first aid according to training.
• Inform the supervisor and document all incidents properly.

Team Support:

• Work closely with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure a clean, safe pool environment.
• Support safety drills and training exercises.
• Attend briefings and refresher training sessions to stay updated on safety protocols.

Experience / Qualification

• Minimum of SSCE; additional training in lifesaving or water safety is an advantage.
• Certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, or CPR is highly desirable.
• 1 – 3 years experience as a Lifeguard or Pool Attendant (hotel experience preferred).
• Ability to swim strongly and perform rescues confidently.
• Basic knowledge of pool maintenance and safety rules.

• Basic knowledge of pool hygiene and water safety.
