We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Electrician
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Main Function
The Electrician supports the maintenance department by carrying out electrical installations, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance across the facility.
The role ensures reliable power supply, safe operation of electrical systems, and quick response to faults affecting guest rooms, kitchen equipment, lighting, and general hotel operations.
The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in guest rooms, offices, kitchens, and public areas.
Fix issues related to sockets, switches, lighting, distribution boards, breakers, and control panels.
Troubleshoot wiring faults, burnt cables, loose connections, and short circuits.
Test and repair hotel appliances such as water heaters, fridges, ovens, and air conditioners (basic checks).
Installation & Upgrades:
Install new electrical fittings: lights, sockets, switches, isolators, and small equipment.
Assist in wiring new areas or rewiring old circuits when required.
Support installation of kitchen equipment and power points according to load requirements.
Ensure all installations comply with safety and hotel standards.
Preventive Maintenance:
Carry out routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment.
Check distribution boards, breakers, contactors, relays, and wiring conditions.
Replace worn-out parts before they cause breakdowns.
Maintain proper records of all maintenance and repairs.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow electrical safety procedures and ensure safe use of tools and equipment.
Immediately report hazards such as exposed wires, overloads, or overheating equipment.
Ensure all electrical rooms, panels, and generator areas are safe and tidy.
Comply with hotel safety policies and electrical regulations.
Team Support:
Work closely with the maintenance team, generator technician, and engineering supervisor.
Assist during major events, power changes, and emergency situations.
Respond to guest complaints and maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner.
Attend briefings and training sessions for continuous improvement.
Experience / Qualifications
Minimum of SSCE; Technical/Vocational training or Trade Test I, II & III is an advantage.
2 – 5 years experience as an Electrician in hotels, facilities, or commercial buildings.
Good knowledge of electrical systems, load distribution, and safety procedures.
Ability to read simple electrical diagrams (an added advantage).
Experience with maintenance tools, testing instruments, and wiring methods.
Competencies / Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and electrical repair skills.
Good understanding of load balancing and power supply systems.
Ability to work with hand tools and testing equipment (multimeter, clamp meter, etc.).
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to faults.
Good record-keeping and attention to safety.
