The Warehouse Officer I is responsible for the efficient management of additives and base oil inventories at the tank farm.
The role ensures accurate stock records, safe product handling, and compliance with operational and safety standards.
The officer supports the smooth receipt, storage, transfer, and issuance of materials to meet production and blending requirements, while maintaining optimal stock levels and documentation accuracy.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Inventory and Stock Management:
Manage daily stock of base oils, additives, and other raw materials within the tank farm and warehouse.
Ensure proper receipt, storage, and issuance of products in line with company procedures.
Maintain accurate stock records and reconcile variances through periodic physical counts.
Monitor product levels and initiate replenishment requests when required.
Ensure proper labeling, identification, and segregation of materials to prevent cross-contamination.
Tank Farm Operations Support:
Supervise product transfers between tanks, blending units, and dispatch facilities.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for loading, unloading, and storage activities.
Coordinate with operations and quality teams to ensure product quality and traceability.
Support blending operations by providing accurate quantities of base oils and additives as requested.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate daily stock movement records (receipts, issues, returns, and transfers).
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Track stock usage trends and report potential losses, discrepancies, or operational anomalies.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations, including safe handling and storage of petroleum products.
Maintain proper housekeeping standards in the warehouse and tank farm areas.
Participate in routine safety inspections, drills, and compliance audits.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly to the Supervisor.
Coordination and Team Support:
Collaborate with logistics, blending, and quality control teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
Support product dispatch and documentation in line with customer delivery requirements.
Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse efficiency.
Perform other related duties as may be assigned by management
Requirements
Education Requirement:
OND or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Business Administration, or any relevant discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in tank farm operations, warehouse management, or lubricant/base oil storage handling.
Industry Knowledge: Sound understanding of petroleum product storage systems, tank calibration, and stock control methods.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
Basic technical understanding of tank farm systems and operations.
Good record-keeping, reporting, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and warehouse management tools.
Attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance.
Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
