We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Tipper Trucks Mechanic

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and repair of a fleet of tipper trucks and associated heavy equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation, often involving both workshop-based tasks and on-site roadside assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems in diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, and tipper mechanisms.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and brake inspections.
• Repairs & Overhauls: Repair or replace faulty components, major units (engines, transmissions), and hydraulic systems.
• Component Servicing: Service and repair auxiliary equipment, power plant components, and electrical systems.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, parts inventory, and maintenance logs.
• Testing: Conduct test drives to verify repair effectiveness and overall vehicle performance.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all company safety protocols, industry standards, and ensure roadworthiness.
• Communication: Liaise with drivers, supervisors, and fleet managers regarding vehicle status and repair needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanic on heavy diesel vehicles, especially tipper trucks.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and specialized shop equipment (lifts, welders, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license (relevant heavy vehicle classes).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Salary
N120,000 - N150,000 monthly.
