Key Responsibilities

• Storytelling and Editing: Review and analyse raw footage to identify the best clips that align with the desired narrative.
• Assemble and sequence clips to create a coherent and impactful story or message.
• Make cuts and trims, removing unnecessary footage and enhancing overall video flow.
• Add transitions and effects to ensure smooth scene transitions and enhance visual appeal.
• Technical Skills and Software: Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer.
• Also proficient in mobile editing software like InShot
• Conduct colour correction and grading to establish specific moods or atmospheres. Perform sound editing and mixing, integrating music, sound effects, and dialogue to enhance storytelling.
• Understand different video formats and codecs to ensure compatibility with intended platforms.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with directors, producers, and other creatives to understand the vision for the video.
• Provide feedback and suggestions during filming or pre-production to optimise footage for editing.
• Clearly communicate edits and revisions, addressing concerns from stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Adaptability and Versatility: Edit various video formats and lengths, including short social media clips and long-form documentaries.
• Adapt editing style to suit different genres and styles, aligning with the specific tone and message of each project.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to incorporate new tools and techniques.

Person Specification

• Proven experience as a Video Editor with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects.
• Proficiency in video editing software, colour correction, and sound editing/mixing.
• Understanding of different video formats, codecs, and delivery methods.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Creative vision and storytelling ability.
• Ability to adapt to different genres and styles.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies
