Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Finance Lead to take full responsibility for the company's financial operations.
This pivotal role involves developing robust financial strategies, overseeing all financial activities, managing risk, and delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will be a proven financial management expert with strong analytical abilities and a strategic mindset.
Develop and manage all in-house financial operations, including detailed budgeting, forecasting, and effective cash flow management.
Prepare and ensure the timely delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Oversee general ledger reconciliations, account postings, and the implementation of strong financial controls.
Provide executive management with data-driven financial insights to inform strategic and operational decision-making.
Banking, Treasury & Payment Management:
Serve as the primary liaison with the company’s bankers for all financial transactions, account management, and necessary documentation.
Manage and process payments, fund transfers, and all other approved financial transactions.
Perform regular bank statement reconciliations to ensure all financial activities are aligned with company policies.
Monitor and manage cash flow effectively to maintain liquidity for both internal and client-related financial obligations.
Client Financial Services & Account Oversight:
Supervise the preparation of client management accounts, financial statements, and performance reports.
Ensure service excellence, compliance with client agreements, and adherence to all reporting timelines and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Offer expert advice to clients on financial performance, risk management, and compliance matters.
Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with client representatives to ensure high satisfaction and retention.
Compliance, Audit & Statutory Filings:
Guarantee full compliance with all tax, audit, and financial reporting regulations.
Oversee all statutory filings, including EMTL and other regulatory submissions, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies as required.
Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal audit and risk control processes.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and high accountability in all financial activities.
Establish clear performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations for team members.
Foster and maintain a departmental culture characterised by excellence, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Strategic Business Support:
Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide recommendations to support overall business strategy and growth initiatives.
Actively participate in key financial activities such as budget planning, developing pricing strategies, and making investment decisions.
Design and implement financial policies and procedures aimed at enhancing operational efficiency across the organization.
Requirements
Education: HND / BSc in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
A mandatory professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ICAN, CFA) is required.
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in financial management, Finance or Hr Consulting firm, including at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably within a consulting firm.
Core Competencies: Proven expertise in financial planning, analysis, and comprehensive reporting.
Knowledge: Strong grasp of financial principles, accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP), and relevant regulatory requirements.
Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems is essential.
Attributes: High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Salary
N400,000 - N450,000 / month.
