Albarka Health Spring Foundation (AHSF) was founded in 2012 by a group of young researchers registered with Corporate Affair Commission CAC/IT/91613 incorporated in 2016) is a non-profit organization dedicated to community mobilization and raising awareness on various social issues. Our mission is to improve the quality of lives of children, women, elderly and other marginalized vulnerable groups through human development and interventions to strengthen communities.

Description
AHSF worked with CCPRH in 10 sites (IDP camps, Host communities and health facilities) in three (3) Local government areas of Borno state, Northeast Nigeria, on Integrated Sexual Reproductive Health, Gender-Based Violence and Nutrition Projects, to identify, mobilize and refer Children under five years old, their caregivers Funded by UNFPA and UNICEF/IOM/TDH in GGASS IDP Camp in Mafa LGA of Borno State on Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) project and health saving projects supported.
In the Northwest region of Nigeria, we have worked with NAVANTI Group, a US research-based Non-Profit organization, on Food Security and Nutrition, to determine food availability, affordability and accessibility within conflict clocked areas, in the northwest states: Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto states respectively.
In Sokoto State, we have implemented programmes with Integrated Health Program (IHP) in the prevention of Moderate Acute Malnutrition and Food Demonstration in all Twenty-Three Local Government Areas, a USAID funded project. Development Alternative incorporated DAI on State2State support to State Accountability, Transparency and Citizen Engagement in seven LGAs of Sokoto State, funded by USAID.
We have also partnered with Nigeria Humanitarian Funds (NHF) on the Provision of lifesaving Moderate Acute Malnutrition Services to Conflict-Affected Under 5 Years Old Children and AHSF Pregnant and Lactating Women in Borno and Yobe State Nigeria funded by UNOCHA; UNICEF to support beneficiary households with severe acute malnourished children admitted to OTP sites on the humanitarian cash transfer programme in 4 LGAs in Sokoto.
We are currenting implementing the Targeted Supplementary Food Programme with Moderate Acute Malnourished children aged 6-59 months by World Food programme in selected LGAs of Borno and Sokoto States
Job Summary
Support the program, the driver will be responsible for transporting AHSF staff and visitors between office and other locations, as well as equipment and materials, also maintaining the vehicles, updating log sheet and vehicle report.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Documentation:
Maintain the vehicle log and fuel consumption documentation
Keep the Vehicle Documents Folder up-to-date:
Support the Fleet Assistant with the Vehicle Usage report, including trip use, mileage and fuel consumption.
Maintain a valid driver license, registration and valid permits all the time.
Control of Vehicles:
Ensure that all vehicle journeys are authorized in advance by Line Managers.
Ensure that all vehicle journeys are to be recorded in the log book at the start and completion of the journey.
Ensure that the keys and vehicle documents are kept in a secure place when the vehicle is not in use.
Ensure that s/he wears the vehicle safety belt and all passengers also wear seat belts before driving the vehicle.
On the Road:
Drive all AHSF vehicles on the approve speed limit of AHSF
Ensure that the line manager is immediately informed of any accidents, the Accident report is filled immediately and the accident reported to the police as soon as possible.
Ensures the safety of passengers at all times
Safe transport of all staff, equipment, and materials.
Vehicle Checks:
Check the vehicle prior to its use in the morning and after use
Check the vehicle before departing from work.
Check, on taking over a vehicle, that the items listed on the Vehicle Check List and the items listed in the Vehicle Tools and Materials Inventory are present and in full functioning order.
Vehicle Defects:
A driver is to check for vehicle defects and damage to the vehicle and ensure that he reports them to his line manager. After consulting a mechanic, the line manager will make the decision as to whether the vehicle should be taken off the road for repair.
Report and supervise all maintenance and repair need of assign vehicle.
Cleanliness & Visibility:
The driver is responsible for ensuring that his vehicle is kept clean on the outside and inside at all times. The driver is also to keep the vehicle tidy and ensure that all rubbish is removed from the vehicle after a journey.
The driver is to ensure visibility protocols are adhered to at all times.
Logistics:
Ensure proper fuel storage and management at base and update the fuel tracking form diligently.
Submit monthly logistics and fuel consumption reports to the Procurement and Logistics officer.
Ensure the asset inventory register is updated regularly and submit to P/L officer monthly or as per need.
Support the identification and contracting of premises (office, guesthouses & warehouses) based on geographical, operational and financial criteria, in close liaison with the P/L officer.
Contribute to ensure proper working and living conditions for all staff in each premises by providing appropriate power supply, drinking water, stationery etc.
Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of works of premises.
Coordinate with relevant departments for travel arrangements and reservations as necessary.
Manage vehicle fleet and ensure that the trip logs are counter-signed by the lead passengers.
Schedule timely and regular preventive service of the generators.
Support policy implementation in procurement / logistics to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of organization by working with respective coordinators.
Undertake market survey on a regular basis to obtain prices at competitive costs for services and goods.
Adhere to organization’s code of conduct and associated policies.
Emergency Preparedness and Response:
In case of emergency, prepare to contribute to delivery of an appropriate and timely response.
Requirements
Must have qualified Secondary School Certificate Examination
2 years working experience working as a driver with reputable organizations (INGOs, / NGO Corporate, Government)
Experience as a mechanic or auto-electrician highly desirable.
Possession of valid driving licence.
Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
Experience working in a relatively insecure location.
Able to communicate with English, Hausa and other Nigerian languages
Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power point at basic level, etc.).
