Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chef with strong expertise in both Nigerian and international cuisine.
The ideal candidate must be Togolese, fully bilingual in English and French, and prepared to relocate outside Nigeria.
This position requires creativity, discipline, and the ability to deliver high-quality meals consistently, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
This role requires strong cooking skills, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present all menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure food quality, portion control, and presentation meet the restaurant’s expectations.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and storage areas.
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or needs to management.
Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal specials (if applicable).
Ensure efficient preparation and timely delivery of meals during peak hours.
Train and support kitchen staff when needed.
Manage food waste and maintain cost awareness.
Handle ingredients properly, including safe storage, labeling, and rotation (FIFO).
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a chef, cook, or kitchen assistant (restaurant or catering experience preferred) in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
Passion for cooking and delivering high-quality dishes.
Other Requirements:
Must be Togolese and bilingual (Fluent in English/French)
Must have completed a minimum of A-levels/Diploma with a certificate issued by a French-speaking educational institution
Must be a resident in Nigeria and willing to relocate outside the country
Must have a valid Togolese International passport
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with Nigerian/Int'l cuisine.
