The Retoucher TV Show is a novel reality TV Show of Flair Finishes that will showcase the best of Nigeria’s upcoming designers competing and charged with redesigning the living spaces of the average Lagos residents.
We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Project Manager to join the founding production team of Retoucher, Africa’s premier home makeover reality TV show.
This is a ground-floor opportunity to establish the operational backbone of a flagship series, shaping workflows from the first episode of its inaugural season.
The Project Manager will be the central hub for planning, coordination, and execution, ensuring seamless integration across design, construction, styling, logistics, and production.
The role demands a unique blend of strategic project management, hands-on problem-solving, and a passion for transforming spaces and stories.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & System Creation:
Develop and implement comprehensive project management frameworks, including detailed production calendars, renovation trackers, and documentation systems tailored for a first-season reality series.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Serve as the primary operational liaison between design, construction, styling, field production, and post-production teams, ensuring alignment on milestones, creative vision, and deadlines.
Renovation Pipeline Management:
Oversee multiple simultaneous home makeovers from initial concept through to the final reveal, managing timelines, procurement, contractor coordination, and on-site readiness for filming.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain meticulous and up-to-date records, including design boards, progress logs, budget trackers, and episode handover materials to support storytelling and post-production.
Risk Mitigation & Problem-Solving:
Proactively identify bottlenecks and real-time challenges (e.g., material delays, scheduling conflicts, design adjustments); implement swift, effective solutions to keep productions on schedule.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
Facilitate clear communication with sponsors, vendors, suppliers, and homeowners, ensuring professional relationships and logistical support.
Process Optimization:
Continuously evaluate and refine workflows to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety throughout the production and renovation process.
Performance Metrics
Success will be measured by:
On-time and on-budget delivery of episode renovations.
Accuracy and utility of project documentation and reporting.
Efficiency and continuous improvement of production workflows.
High levels of satisfaction from production leadership, creative teams, and network partners.
Consistent quality and seamless execution of on-screen reveals and narrative flow.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Film/Television Production, Construction Management, Interior Design, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional project management experience, with a proven track record in television/film production, large-scale renovation, interior design project management, or high-end event execution.
Demonstrated ability to build scalable processes and systems in a first-season or start-up environment.
Production Tools: Call sheets, episode trackers, renovation logs
Outstanding organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects under pressure.
A calm, solutions-oriented demeanour with superior emotional intelligence and adaptability.
Highly Desirable:
Direct experience in African television, lifestyle, or home improvement programming.
Established network of regional vendors, contractors, or suppliers within the design/renovation sector.
Deep understanding of renovation workflows, interior styling processes, and film production cycles.
