Job Title: Audit Trainee
Location: Lagos

Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Audit Trainee with up to three (3) years of practical experience in a professional auditing or accounting firm.
The successful candidate will support audit engagements, assist in statutory audits, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
This role provides structured exposure to audit planning, execution, reporting, and client interaction under the supervision of senior audit professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and execution of statutory, internal, and special audits for clients across various industries
Perform audit fieldwork including verification of financial records, internal controls testing, and substantive procedures
Prepare audit working papers in line with firm standards and regulatory requirements
Assist in reviewing financial statements for compliance with IFRS, Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).
Support senior auditors in identifying audit risks and control weaknesses
Participate in stock counts, fixed asset verification, and cash audits
Assist in drafting audit reports and management letters
Support tax-related assignments including basic tax computations and compliance reviews
Maintain confidentiality and adhere strictly to professional ethics
Liaise with clients to obtain audit information and documentation
Carry out other audit-related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an auditing or accounting firm in Nigeria
Partly qualified or in progress with professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN (added advantage)
Good understanding of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and audit procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/audit software
Strong analytical and numerical skills
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
