Job Title: Medical Sales Representative

Reports To: Regional Sales Manager / National Sales Manager
Role Purpose
The Medical Representative is responsible for engaging healthcare professionals through ethical detailing, building strong professional relationships, generating prescription demand, and growing market share within assigned territories while upholding the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Ethical Detailing & HCP Engagement:
Promote assigned pharmaceutical products to doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals through ethical and compliant detailing.
Conduct hospital, clinic, and pharmacy visits in line with approved call plans.
Organize and participate in clinical meetings, CMEs, product presentations, and in-hospital promotional activities.
Communicate accurate product knowledge, clinical benefits, and safety information.
Territory & Account Management:
Execute daily, weekly, and monthly call plans to optimize territory coverage.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key HCPs, hospitals, and retail pharmacies.
Ensure product visibility, availability, and optimal placement at retail and institutional levels.
Monitor and report competitor activities, market trends, and customer feedback.
Sales & Performance Delivery:
Achieve assigned sales targets, prescription generation goals, and performance KPIs.
Drive demand generation through strategic customer engagement and follow-up.
Submit timely and accurate activity reports, call logs, and market intelligence reports.
Compliance & Professional Standards:
Adhere strictly to company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical marketing guidelines.
Maintain accurate records and ensure all promotional activities meet compliance standards.
Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and accountability at all times.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Biological Sciences, or a related discipline.
3 - 5 years relevant work experience.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to meet daily call rates, territory objectives, and reporting requirements.
Genuine interest in healthcare, pharmaceutical sales, and relationship management.
Prior experience as a Medical Representative or in pharmaceutical sales.
Good understanding of hospital structures and retail pharmacy operations.
Experience organizing or delivering CMEs and clinical presentations.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: N250,000 – N350,000 monthly (based on experience and performance).
