Responsibilities
Business Opportunity Identification:
Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets on a global scale.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to uncover growth opportunities.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company objectives and expand market presence.
Collaborate with senior management to align business development strategies with overall company goals.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
Negotiate contracts, agreements, and partnerships that align with company interests.
Market Research and Analysis:
Conduct comprehensive market research to stay informed about industry trends, emerging markets, and potential risks.
Prepare detailed market analysis reports and present findings to management.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure cohesive execution of business strategies.
Provide insights and recommendations based on client feedback and market observations.
Project Management:
Lead and manage multiple business development projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
Set project goals, establish timelines, and monitor progress against objectives.
Innovation and Technology Integration:
Leverage machine learning and AI applications to identify new business opportunities and optimize business development processes.
Advocate for the adoption of innovative technologies within the business development function.
Networking and Representation:
Represent Open Mineral at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and forge new relationships.
Maintain an active network within the industry to stay abreast of developments and opportunities.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and deliver regular reports on business development activities, KPIs, and achievements to senior leadership.
Maintain accurate records of all business development initiatives and client interactions.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks in business development activities and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all business dealings.
Requirements
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or related roles within the commodities, mining, or trading industries.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing business development strategies that led to significant revenue growth.
Strategic and Analytical Skills:
Strong strategic planning abilities with excellent analytical skills to interpret complex data and market information.
Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
Ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in business development.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
Industry Knowledge:
Deep understanding of global commodity markets, particularly in metals and raw materials relevant to the energy transition.
Awareness of supply chain dynamics and trading practices.
