We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Officer

Location: Ilorin, Kwara
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Head of Accounting

Job Summary

  • The Account Officer will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, daily transactions, reporting, and sales comission payments.
  • This role requires a detail-oriented finance professional who understands bookkeeping, cash flow management, payroll support, and financial reporting within a real estate business environment.

Responsibilities
Financial Records & Bookkeeping (Core Responsibility):

  • Record all financial transactions accurately and timely.
  • Maintain proper books of accounts, ledgers, and financial documentation.
  • Monitor daily cash inflows and outflows.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.

Payments, Receipts & Expense Management:

  • Prepare payment vouchers and process staff and vendor payments.
  • Issue receipts for client payments and ensure proper documentation.
  • Track company expenses and ensure they align with approved budgets.
  • Manage petty cash and imprest records.

Payroll & Statutory Support:

  • Assist with staff payroll preparation and salary processing.
  • Ensure remittance of statutory deductions (Pension, PAYE, etc.) where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee financial records.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for management.
  • Support budgeting and financial planning processes.
  • Provide financial insights to aid management decision-making.
  • Maintain proper filing of financial records for audit purposes.

Real Estate Financial Administration:

  • Track property sales payments, installment schedules, and outstanding balances.
  • Maintain client payment records and follow up on payment compliance.
  • Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure financial accuracy.

Requirements
Education:

  • B.Sc. Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years experience as an Account Officer or similar role.
  • Experience in a real estate, construction, or service-based company is an advantage.

Technical Skills (Very Important):

  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Understanding of basic taxation and statutory remittances.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Record-keeping and documentation skills.

Ability to Commute / Relocate:
