Job Title: Assistant Maintenance Manager

Job Summary
The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the Maintenance/MRO Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities across the automobile manufacturing plant.
The role ensures production equipment, utilities, and facilities operate efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.
The Assistant Maintenance Manager plays a key role in preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, team supervision, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in developing and implementing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules.
Monitor equipment performance and ensure timely servicing and repairs.
Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment breakdowns.
Equipment & Plant Support:
Oversee maintenance of production lines, assembly equipment, CNC machines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, paint booths, and workshop tools.
Support maintenance of utilities such as power supply, generators, compressors, HVAC, and water systems.
Ensure calibration and servicing of critical automotive manufacturing equipment.
Team Supervision & Coordination:
Supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, mechanics, and contractors.
Allocate tasks, monitor job execution, and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
Support training and skill development of maintenance personnel.
Spare Parts & Inventory Control:
Assist in managing spare parts, tools, and maintenance consumables.
Coordinate with procurement and stores to ensure availability of critical spares.
Help control maintenance costs and reduce waste.
Safety, Quality & Compliance:
Enforce HSE policies and ensure safe work practices.
Support compliance with ISO/IATF standards, audits, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in accident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain maintenance logs, job cards, and equipment history records.
Prepare daily and monthly maintenance reports for management.
Provide recommendations for equipment improvement and replacement.
Support to Maintenance Manager:
Act on behalf of the Maintenance Manager when required.
Assist in budgeting, planning shutdown maintenance, and coordinating overhauls.
Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
Professional certifications (COREN, CMRP, PMP, or maintenance-related courses) are an added advantage.
Experience:
5–8 years’ experience in maintenance operations, with at least 3 years in an automobile manufacturing or industrial environment.
Hands-on experience with automotive production equipment and plant utilities.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Experience with preventive maintenance systems and breakdown management.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
Proficiency in CMMS/ERP systems and MS Office.
Good understanding of safety and quality standards.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and reporting skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
High level of discipline, accountability, and attention to detail.
Salary
N250,000 - N300,000 Monthly.
