Job Overview
As an Electrical and Electronics Engineer, you will be at the heart of our technical operations, working on the design, development, and testing of electrical systems for space and terrestrial applications.
Your expertise will be critical in ensuring that our satellite platforms, ground station equipment, and data infrastructure operate with precision, reliability, and safety.
You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including embedded systems engineers, mechanical engineers, and software developers to deliver end-to-end integrated solutions across upstream (space hardware), midstream (ground control), and downstream (user applications) segments.
Key Responsibilities
Satellite Systems Design: Design and prototype electrical systems for satellites, including power distribution networks, solar energy systems, and battery management units.
Ground Station Equipment: Develop and maintain hardware for ground-based systems such as RF transceivers, antenna control systems, and signal processing modules.
Component Selection & Integration: Specify, select, and integrate microcontrollers, ASICs, sensors, and other electrical components for satellite and terrestrial systems.
PCB Design & Development: Perform circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout using industry-standard tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence, or equivalent.
Testing & Compliance: Conduct rigorous testing and validation including EMI/EMC compliance, thermal cycling, and vibration/environmental stress testing.
Collaborative Engineering: Work closely with embedded systems engineers to ensure effective hardware–software integration.
Support for Downstream Applications: Design electrical hardware for edge-processing units and IoT gateways connected to satellite data services.
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical system faults during design, integration, testing, and operational deployment.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, test procedures, compliance reports, and mission requirement validations.
System-Level Collaboration: Participate in system design reviews, safety audits, and mission planning activities.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical systems development (aerospace, defense, or high-reliability environments preferred).
Hands-on experience with PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence, Eagle, or similar).
Strong understanding of RF design, power electronics, embedded systems, and sensor integration.
Experience with environmental and regulatory testing standards (EMI/EMC, thermal, vibration).
Familiarity with satellite systems, ground station operations, or IoT infrastructure is an advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting.
Passion for innovation and space technologies.
Salary
N200,000 – N300,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
