In its drive to ensure improved and sustained efficiency and effectiveness in delivery of its mandate with strategic leadership and management, NESCO (Nigeria) Limited is seeking to recruit fully qualified, highly motivated, and well experienced persons to fill highly rewarding vacant positions that have arisen in the Corporation.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Lead, Network Planning and Distribution
Location: Bukuru, Plateau
Purpose of the Job
Responsible for overseeing the design, planning, development, and maintenance of the power distribution network.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Lead Network Planning and Distribution shall therefore be responsible, but not limited, for the following:
Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive plans for the expansion and optimization of the electrical distribution network
Monitor energy flow across the distribution network while developing and implementing strategies to optimize usage and minimize distribution losses across the network
Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulatory standards and company policies
Participate in carrying out on-site electrical load survey for new projects
Ensure loss reduction, prevention of equipment failure and accident reduction strategies
Participate in network design and supervise engineering drawing production
Ensure all customers and distribution assets are mapped and tagged using GIS tools
Plan, organize, design and coordinate technical activities for smooth functioning of the distribution networks
Inspect, test and commission new distribution network feeders and distribution sub-station
Maintain, manage and carry out electrical load survey of all feeders
Assist in identifying potential types of risks that may occur in the design, planning and development of projects
Initiate, schedule, monitor, control, and commission technical projects to ensure compliance with planned objectives and regulatory standards
Review Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation (BEME) and cost-benefit analyses for technical projects
Assists the Head Distribution in proposal vetting – providing civil and electrical inputs, conducting feasibility tests, doing the necessary computations for proposal evaluation etc
Conduct site visits for proposed projects (monthly) and when required
Work with relevant departments to ensure that contractual obligations are met for all power purchase and sales agreements, that services are delivered efficiently, and that commercial risks are adequately managed
Comply with Quality Management System / Occupational Health & Safety requirements including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs
Prepare periodic reports for the attention of the Head Distribution
Carry out any other duties assigned by the Head, Distribution.
Minimum Educational & Professional Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
B.Eng or HND in an Engineering field + COREN accredited PGD + Masters in the same field
Professional certification (e.g., NSE, COREN) is required
Minimum of 5-7 relevant years of experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in managing and implementing network expansion and planning projects is essential.
