Job Title: Sample Room & Production Coordinator (Part-time or Contract)

Job Description

• We are looking for a highly organised Sample Room & Production Coordinator to support our Lagos design studio across sampling, small-batch production, and materials management.
• This role ensures smooth flow, structure, and quality control within the production process, allowing the creative team to focus on design and development.
• You will be the operational backbone of the studio coordinating machinists, monitoring progress, maintaining logs, and ensuring every piece meets our craftsmanship standards.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Coordination & Workflow:

• Manage the daily activities of sample development
• Assign tasks to machinists and track progress
• Prepare and organise production bundles (fabric, trims, patterns, instructions)
• Keep the weekly production board updated
• Production Tracking & Documentation:
• Maintain sample logs, fit logs, and production calendars
• Update “materials check” status in the workflow
• Track fabric, trims, and shortage notifications
• Liaise with patternmaker and technical designer.

Quality Control:

• Inspect samples and production pieces for accuracy and finish
• Ensure all garments match patterns, measurements, and finishing standards
• Flag issues early and follow through until resolved.

Vendor & Material Coordination:

• Coordinate with local vendors, printers, dyers, and suppliers
• Arrange pickups, deliveries, and material shopping when needed
• Maintain organised storage of fabrics, trims, and notions.

Studio Organisation:

• Keep the sample room tidy, structured, and ready for work
• Maintain clear labelling of fabrics, patterns, and work-in-progress.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in fashion production, garment construction, tailoring, or sample coordination
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with machinists and vendors
• Understanding of sewing techniques and garment finishing
• Comfortable using Google Sheets, WhatsApp, and basic workflow tools
• Able to work in a fast-paced, creative environment.
