Job Title: Managing Director
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Job Purpose
The Managing Director is responsible for providing overall strategic, operational, financial, and regulatory leadership for the fintech company.
The MD will drive company vision, ensure regulatory compliance, scale products and services, grow revenue, manage stakeholder relationships, and build a high-performance organization.
The role accommodates early-stage startup execution as well as mature fintech governance and scale management.
Key Responsibilities
Your roles and responsibilities include, but is not limited to the following:
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive growth strategy, focusing on expanding market share and service offerings.
Stay abreast of industry trends and regulations, identifying new opportunities and adapting the business model to market changes.
Oversee day-to-day running of the company, providing strong leadership and direction to all teams within the company
Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the business and implementing systems to optimise processes and streamline operations.
Establish and maintain strong risk management frameworks to mitigate potential risks.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all strategic business units as well as cost centres to ensure optimal business outcomes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions and conferences with a view to achieving adequate brand positioning.
Drive revenue growth, optimize profitability and return on investment, ensuring strong financial performance.
Create and monitor effective implementation of annual budgets and managing financial resources effectively.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in line with regulatory requirements.
Implement robust compliance measures and frameworks to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, proactively addressing any compliance concerns.
Drive innovation and new product development in response to customer needs, while ensuring
Effectively leverage technology to stay ahead of the curve, including ensuring smooth operation and security of the company’s technology infrastructure.
Attract and retain requisite talent to ensure effective delivery of the company’s services, including to invest in the professional development of your team.
Review and prepare requisite reports in a timely manner as required.
Implement and ensure adherence to company’s policies and procedures, promoting the company’s values in the performance of your role.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Relevant professional certifications in finance, risk, compliance, or technology are desirable.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 15–20 years’ progressive leadership experience, preferably within fintech, banking, financial services, or technology-driven businesses.
Proven experience leading startups and/or scaling organizations.
Strong understanding of digital financial products, payment systems, lending platforms, or financial infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience working with regulators and managing compliance frameworks.
