GUO Transport Company is a division of G. U. Okeke & Sons Limited, a household name in the transportation industry and one of the largest providers of intercity and interstate transportation, serving more than 200 destinations across Nigeria and West Africa with a modern and environmentally friendly fleet.
Responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights that improve business operations, optimize logistics processes, and drive strategic decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities
Gather, clean, and analyze data from various sources, including operational systems, customer databases, and financial records.
Identify trends, patterns, and insights to improve logistics efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost management.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports for management.
Develop and maintain dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel) to track company performance.
Generate reports on fleet utilization, operational material usage, vehicle part usage, tyres usage, maintenance records, delivery timelines and warehouse efficiency.
Support route optimization and fleet management strategies to enhance delivery efficiency.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Maintain proper documentation of data processes, methodologies, and reports.
Collaborate with IT, Operations, BOM, LOM, Regional Manager and other departments to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Present findings and insights to management for strategic decision-making.
Support fleet management by identifying underutilized or overutilized vehicles.
Identify bottlenecks in transport and logistics operations and propose data-driven solutions.
Recommend process automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and errors.
Support digital transformation initiatives within the company.
Analyze customer feedback and complaints to identify service improvement areas.
Identify risks related to fraud, revenue leakage, or operational inefficiencies.
Work with the operations team to minimize fuel costs and vehicle downtime.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fleet utilization, route efficiency, revenue, and delivery timing, operational materials.
Any other task assigned by the MD and Director.
Key Performance Indicators
Process Improvement: Implementation of at least 10 initiatives in a quarter
Effective Cost Containment: Not more than 5% deviation from the approved Budget
Timely submission of Management Reports: Timeliness and accuracy of report
JobRequirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
Knowledge of Nigerian transportation regulations.
2-5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the logistics or transportation sector.
Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Python, R, Power BI, or Tableau for data analysis and visualization.
