Job Summary
The Outdoor Bar Waitress is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service to guests seated at the hotel’s outdoor bar and lounge areas.
She ensures prompt, courteous, and professional service while maintaining high standards of hygiene, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
This role is strictly limited to outdoor bar service only and does not include room service or in-room deliveries.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Service:
Welcome guests warmly to the outdoor bar area and ensure they are comfortably seated.
Present menus, explain available drinks, cocktails, and light food options to guests.
Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them promptly to the bar or kitchen.
Serve drinks and food to guests at outdoor bar tables in a timely and professional manner.
Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
Clear used glasses, bottles, plates, and utensils promptly to maintain a clean environment.
Bar & Service Operations:
Work closely with bartenders to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Ensure all orders served match guest requests and hotel standards.
Adhere strictly to hotel policies regarding alcohol service, including age verification and responsible service.
Handle bills accurately, present checks to guests, and process payments as required.
Report any guest complaints or unusual incidents to the Bar Supervisor immediately.
Hygiene, Safety & Cleanliness:
Maintain cleanliness of outdoor bar tables, chairs, service stations, and surrounding areas.
Ensure proper handling of glassware, cutlery, and service equipment.
Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
Observe safety standards, especially in outdoor settings, including spill prevention and proper waste disposal.
Professional Conduct:
Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times in line with hotel grooming standards.
Display a polite, friendly, and respectful attitude towards guests, colleagues, and supervisors.
Communicate clearly and professionally with team members.
Protect hotel property and report damages or shortages promptly.
Scope & Limitations of the Role:
Service is strictly limited to the outdoor bar and designated outdoor seating areas.
The waitress is not permitted to deliver food or drinks to guest rooms or perform room service duties.
The role does not include minibar replenishment or in-room dining operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience:
Minimum of Secondary School Education.
Previous experience as a waitress, bar attendant, or in food and beverage service is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Good communication and listening skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Basic knowledge of beverages, cocktails, and bar service is an advantage.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Salary
N400,000 / month
