We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Laundry Attendant

Location: Benin City, Edo

Position Summary

• The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring the efficient, hygienic, and careful processing of all hotel laundry. This role is crucial in maintaining the 5-star image of the hotel by providing flawlessly clean, pressed, and pristine linens, terry, staff uniforms, and guest garments.
• The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and take pride in contributing to the guest experience behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence:

• Operate and monitor industrial washers, dryers, flatwork ironers, and steam presses according to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Sort all laundry items by fabric type, color, and soil level with meticulous attention to detail.
• Treat stains appropriately using approved chemicals and techniques for a wide range of delicate and luxury fabrics.
• Fold, count, and stack linens (sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, table linen) to established hotel standards.
• Iron, press, or steam items such as napkins, tablecloths,and guest clothing to a pristine, wrinkle-free finish.
• Inspect all items for stains, damage, or wear and tear; reporting any issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of processed loads and guest laundry.

Quality & Inventory Control:

• Ensure the final product meets the hotel's exacting quality standards for appearance, cleanliness, and freshness.
• Assist in managing linen and uniform inventory, ensuring adequate par levels are maintained.
• Prepare and package guest valet laundry and dry cleaning with care, attaching correct labels and bills.

Teamwork & Safety:

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry area at all times.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, including the safe handling, storage, and use of chemicals.
• Report any maintenance issues with machinery immediately.
• Collaborate effectively with the housekeeping team to ensure timely supply of linens to guest floors and outlets.
• Support colleagues during peak periods.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Qualification: Interested candidates should possess an SSCE, OND, NCE, HND, or Bachelor's Degree  with 2 years experience.
• Experience: Previous experience in a commercial laundry environment, preferably within a hotel or luxury resort. Training will be provided for exceptional candidates.

Skills:

• Ability to identify different fabrics and appropriate care methods.
• Basic knowledge of stain removal techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Good physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods, lift, carry, and push heavy laundry carts (up to 25 kg / 50 lbs).
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, warm, and humid environment.
• Reliable, honest, and able to work with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
• Attributes: Discreet, professional, and takes pride in their work. Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Physical Demands:

• This role requires constant standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Must be able to safely operate heavy machinery and handle hot items.
