Job Title: Geography / History Teacher

Location: Jalingo, Taraba

Core Responsibilities

• Lesson Planning & Delivery: Develop and teach well-structured, creative lessons covering physical (landforms, climate) and human (settlements, population) geography, using diverse methods like discussions, projects, and fieldwork.
• Assessment & Feedback: Mark work, monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and use data to inform teaching and report to parents and staff.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive environment, managing student behavior and attitudes to support learning.
• Curriculum Alignment: Ensure teaching meets national curriculum standards and school schemes of work, adapting for different learning needs (SEN, high ability).

Key Skills & Duties

• Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor`s Degree in any relevant field.
• Subject Expertise: Demonstrate strong knowledge of geography and curriculum developments.
• Resource Management: Organize and maintain teaching materials, from workbooks to digital tools.
• Collaboration: Work with other teachers, support staff, and parents to enhance learning and address student needs.
• Professional Development: Stay updated on teaching methodologies and contribute to school improvement.
• Pastoral Care: Undertake supervisory duties and provide pastoral support as needed.
