Benin Asaba Expressway is the holding company for the Concession Project awarded to APP (African Plus Partners) by the Federal government of Nigeria to construct, maintain and manage the Benin Asaba Expressway.

Job Title: Public Relations Officer (PRO)
Location: Benin City, Edo

Job Purpose
The Public Relations Officer will be responsible for managing BAECC’s public image and communications by maintaining strong relationships with media houses and government agencies, coordinating external communications, and managing the company’s digital and social media presence.
The role supports transparent stakeholder engagement, project visibility, and reputation management across the Benin–Asaba Expressway corridor.
Key Responsibilities
Media & Public Relations:
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with print, electronic, and online media houses.
Draft, review, and distribute press releases, media briefs, and public statements.
Coordinate press conferences, media site visits, interviews, and public engagements.
Monitor media coverage and prepare media reports and sentiment analysis.
Manage crisis communication in collaboration with management when required.
Government & Stakeholder Liaison:
Serve as a liaison between BAECC and relevant government agencies, MDAs, regulators, and host communities.
Coordinate official correspondence, briefings, and engagements with federal, state, and local government bodies.
Support community relations initiatives and stakeholder communication along the project corridor.
Ensure alignment of public messaging with government and regulatory expectations.
Digital & Social Media Management:
Manage and grow BAECC’s official social media platforms, including:
Instagram
TikTok
LinkedIn
WhatsApp (broadcast & stakeholder groups)
Other relevant digital platforms
Develop and execute a content calendar aligned with project milestones and corporate communications.
Create, curate, and publish engaging content (text, images, short videos).
Monitor engagement, respond to inquiries, and manage online reputation professionally.
Track social media analytics and prepare monthly performance reports.
Corporate Communications:
Support internal communication initiatives in collaboration with HR and Management.
Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communication channels.
Maintain a database of media contacts, government agencies, and key stakeholders.
Assist in the development of corporate publications, newsletters, and information materials.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Quality and frequency of positive media coverage
Engagement and growth on social media platforms
Timeliness and effectiveness of stakeholder communications
Responsiveness to public and media inquiries
Compliance with corporate communication standards
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related fields.
3–5 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or media relations.
Proven experience managing social media platforms for corporate or project-based organizations.
Experience working with government agencies, infrastructure projects, or construction firms is an added advantage.
Skills / Competencies:

Basic photography and video content creation skills

Working Conditions
Field-based and office-based, with regular site visits.
May require availability outside normal working hours during critical communications or project events.
